Aluminum Brazing, Soldering & Welding Rods

Muggy Weld offers two proven DIY solutions for aluminum welding, brazing, and soldering: Super Alloy 1 low temperature aluminum and Super Alloy 5 aluminum repair rod and flux kit. These aluminum brazing and soldering rods are designed for easy use, strong bonds, and reliable aluminum repair without specialized welding equipment.

Super Alloy 1 is a low temperature aluminum solder that flows at just 350°F, making it ideal for aluminum welding, brazing, and soldering on  small or delicate aluminum parts.  Because of its low working temperature, Super Alloy 1 can even be used with a heat gun on light aluminum repairs.  Indirect heat is recommended to protect temperature-sensitive components. This makes Super Alloy 1 a preferred choice for DIY aluminum repair where distortion or heat damage must be avoided.

In addition to aluminum, Super Alloy 1 rods and flux bond to many other metal, including pot metal, copper, galvanized steel, brass, and more.  It also joins dissimilar metals such as aluminum to brass while maintaining the integrity of the parent metal.  The resulting bond strength reaches up to 20,000 psi, making it suitable for many aluminum soldering applications.  Super Alloy 1 is not recommended for aluminum boats, cast aluminum, or large or thick aluminum sections.  For those applications, Super Alloy 5 should be used.

Super Alloy 5 is a higher temperature aluminum brazing rod that works at 600-800°F (larger/thicker require more heat) and delivers weld-strength aluminum repairs.  It can be used with virtually any torch, including propane, MAPP gas, oxy-MAP, natural gas, or oxyacetylene, and it can also be used as a TIG welding rod.  This versatility makes Super Alloy 5 ideal for aluminum welding, brazing, and repair in both DIY and professional environments.

Super Alloy 5 features a unique powder flux that eliminates the need for pre-cleaning.  The flux actively removes contaminants during heating and serves as a precise temperature indicator, changing from a powder to a liquid when the aluminum reaches the correct working temperature.  This visual cue ensures proper application of the filler rod and consistent aluminum brazing results.

Super Alloy 5 performs exceptionally well on thin aluminum as well as thicker aluminum castings.  For heavy aluminum sections and cast aluminum, an oxyacetylene torch is recommended.  Finished bonds achieve tensile strengths of up to 30,000 psi, providing durable, long-lasting aluminum repairs. Aluminum air conditioning repair has never been easier, or more affordable.

Muggy Weld Super Alloy 1 and Super Alloy 5 aluminum welding, brazing, and soldering rods offer reliable DIY solutions that reduce the need for full replacements or costly professional repairs.  These aluminum repair rods were engineered to make aluminum bonding accessible, strong, and repeatable.
