Muggy Weld offers 2 solutions for aluminum welding, brazing, and soldering: Super Alloy 1 low temperature solder and Super Alloy 5 aluminum repair rod and flux kit.
Super Alloy 1 is an aluminum solder that flows at such a low temperature, it can even be used with a heat gun on small aluminum parts for aluminum welding, brazing, soldering. Indirect heat is recommended with this product, as it has a 350°F working temperature. Super Alloy 1 is ideal for delicate, temperature-sensitive parts.
In addition to aluminum, Super Alloy 1 rod and flux will bond to many other metals without distortion to the parent metal: pot metal, copper, galvanized, brass and more. Super Alloy 1 even joins dissimilar metals such as brass to aluminum–the resulting bond is 20,000 psi. (Super Alloy 1 cannot be applied to aluminum boats, cast aluminum, or large/thick aluminum. Please use Super Alloy 5 for these applications)
Super Alloy 5 is a 600°F brazing rod that repairs aluminum at weld strength with any torch: propane, oxyacetylene, MAPP gas, oxy-MAP, or natural gas. It can even be used as a TIG rod.
Super Alloy 5 requires no pre-cleaning thanks to its powder flux. This unique flux removes contaminates while it works, and acts as an absolute temperature guide– it transforms from a powder to a liquid when the parent metal reaches proper working temperature. This is an exact indicator of when it’s time to apply the filler rod.
Super Alloy 5 works well on thin aluminum as well as thicker castings. (An oxyacetylene torch should be used on heavier aluminum and cast aluminum) and its resulting bonds are 30,000 psi.
We carry versatile Super Alloy 1 and Super Alloy 5 aluminum welding, brazing, and soldering products that will prevent the need for full-on repairs.
